Administrative Support Intern 

SUMMARY

Blackrock Strategy is looking for an Administrative Support Intern who facilitates the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains filing systems as assigned. 

  • Retrieves information as requested from records, emails, minutes, accounts, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed. 

  • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions. 

  • Coordinates and schedules meetings, and appointments for managers or supervisors. 

  • Prepares agendas and schedules for meetings. 

  • Maintains office supplies and coordinates maintenance of office equipment. 

  • Supports Accounting and HR Department. 

  • Takes meeting notes and documentation.  

  • Creates communication materials and documents through Word, PowerPoint, and Canva. 

  • Research and extract data to support assigned tasks. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

​EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED and pursuing a bachelor's degree.  

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing. 

  • Ability to work independently.  

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN 

  • MUST BE A HUB ZONE RESIDENT 

  • Must pass physical and health requirements 

  • Must pass testing requirements 

  • Individual must accept and meet all program standards and guidelines 

  • Individual should possess reasonable interactive and social skills 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read in English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write in English for routine reports and correspondence.   

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems by defining the problem, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must have a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Other physical demands included must be able to lift up 15 pounds at times. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is a 3,000sq ft small business facility located near Lowe Mill constructed in 2021. This position requires all work to be performed in the office.
