Emerging Technology Assessor  

SUMMARY

Blackrock Strategy is looking for an Emerging Technology Assessor to design technology assessments, gather data, and conduct analysis for DoD. This position will require travel (10-20%).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with government leaders, partner companies, and military elements to understand objectives and to identify relevant data and metrics. 

  • Sets parameters and requirements for data to be gathered; validates collected data through statistical testing and independent judgement. 

  • Selects computational or data manipulation methods to be used in research and analysis. 

  • Applies validation and testing models to data. 

  • Drafts and implements time and cost formulas to plan, control, and review large projects. 

  • Develops models and/or creates simulation models of problems, applying expected constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, numerical parameters, and conflicting objectives. 

  • Based on data analysis, assists with and/or creates, develops, and implements follow on evaluations and assessments. 

  • Prepares and distributes or delivers reports that identify, explain, and evaluate problems and available solutions. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM major or HS diploma and 4+ years of related experience required.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Fundamental mathematical skills with the ability to create and conduct simulation models, data reduction, and trend analysis. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

  • Proficient with statistical analysis software.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • USG or DoD experience 

  • SIPR and/or JWICS experience 

  • Experience working at military T&E range environments

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN 

  • HUBZONE Resident Preferred (https://maps.certify.sba.gov/hubzone/map#center=39.828200,-98.579500&zoom=5) 

  • Top Secret DoD Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Must have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire and the ability to maintain a clearance during employment.  

  • Must pass physical and health requirements 

  • Must pass testing requirements 

  • Individual must accept and meet all program standards and guidelines 

  • Individual should possess reasonable interactive and social skill

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read in English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write in English for routine reports and correspondence.   

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems by defining the problem, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must have a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is 50/50 virtual and SCIF or other office work environment.
