UAS Operations Coordinator

SUMMARY

Provides operational coordination, technical documentation, and oversight for regulatory compliance on organization projects and priorities. The position also provides advice and assistance to organization leadership on a variety of administrative policy matters and subjects related to all groups and categories of Unmanned Systems across the Department of Defense.

Duties Include:

  • The Operations Coordinator executes analytical tasks utilizing both analytical techniques and processes. The Coordinator develops and/or utilizes analytic tools, techniques, and processes for technical and/or administrative support activities. The most qualified candidates will apply oral and written communication skills.

  • Contributes to planning and implementation of large programs.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Education:

  1. Bachelor of Science preferred

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum 4 years of Military Aviation experience, preferably UAS

  • Evaluate ongoing projects against evolving strategic plans/guidance and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance while maintaining a rapid/agile operational tempo

  • Work independently with strong tact, diplomacy, written and verbal communication skills

  • Clearly articulate and communicate via email, phone calls, presentation in front of key leaders, and/or video teleconference

  • Knowledge and understanding of aviation maintenance and unique policies for all SOF aviation platforms

  • Knowledge and understanding of technical Army applications and manuals

  • Prior military experience or contract support to the military in a forward deployed theater of operations

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Familiarization with the Defense Acquisition process

  • Project management certification

  • Supervisory experience, managing resources and time effectively in a military organization

  • MQ-1C Airframe Qualification

  • 500 hours of UAS flight time as Aircraft Commander and/or Instructor Operator

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision and meeting established deadlines

  • Individual should possess reasonable interactive and social skills

There are limited supervisory responsibilities with this job.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read in English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write in English for routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and probabilities to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Statistics formalized training, skill set, and on-the-job application is highly desired.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems by defining the problem, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver’s licenses issued by state of residence. Must have or be able to obtain a Top-Secret level security clearance with access to sensitive compartmented information. Must have a valid United States passport.
