IT Intern

SUMMARY

The IT intern will aid the Information Technology Specialist in computer-related activities. This includes set up and tracking of equipment. This position is responsible for providing support in problem-solving and troubleshooting to resolve a variety of computer issues.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support technology-related activities.  

  • Assist in set up of computers, systems, and users.  

  • Track BrS Equipment and log computer maintenance activities.  

  • Ensure permissions-based access with need-to-know thresholds.  

  • Support CMMC technical implementations.  

  • Prepare progress/status reports to submit to team leads as required.  

  • Identify and document areas for technical process improvements.  

  • Ensure data is secured and backups occur to prevent loss of data or productivity.  

  • Troubleshoot and assist resolve computer/equipment inefficiencies. 

  • Support track network performance and resolve any inefficiencies. 

  • Assist in set up and maintain software accounts. 

  • Educate employees on best technical security practices. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

​​EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.   

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. 

  • Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN 

  • MUST BE A HUB ZONE RESIDENT

  • Must pass physical and health requirements 

  • Must pass testing requirements 

  • Individual must accept and meet all program standards and guidelines 

  • Individual should possess reasonable interactive and social skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read in English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write in English for routine reports and correspondence.   

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems by defining the problem, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must have a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is a 3,000sq ft small business facility located near Lowe Mill constructed in 2021. This position requires all work to be performed in the office.
